The Experience

The jetboat was invented here in New Zealand as a way for farmers, hunters and explorers to reach the country's hidden backcountry. We use it the way it was meant to be used: not only for thrills, but to carry you somewhere few will ever see.

A Day on the River

Carried into country the road forgot

Not many people know the jetboat was invented in New Zealand as a means to access the backcountry, for farmers, hunters, and those who simply needed to go where no road reached. We have kept that spirit alive.

You travel upriver into wilderness, the shallow hull skimming water barely deep enough to wade. The driver knows every braid and bend. Where the valley opens, you stop — and a picnic is laid out in a place you could never have reached any other way.

It is soft adventure in the truest sense: effortless on your part, yet delivering you into landscapes of genuine remoteness. The thrill is not the speed. It is the solitude at the end of it.

Off The Great Walks

Trails the guidebooks have never heard of

New Zealand's Great Walks are famous for good reason — and that is exactly why we rarely take you on them. Booked huts, marked routes, and a queue of other travellers are not what this country does best.

Instead, our guides walk you onto private land: high-country sheep and deer stations passed down through generations, where the public has no right of way and the view from the tops is seen by almost no one outside the family that holds it.

These relationships took decades to build, one paddock gate at a time. They are why your hike will not look like anyone else's photograph, and why the silence up there feels entirely your own.

“We have never repeated an itinerary. Given the complexity of a country and the complexity of a person, we believe repetition simply isn't our way.”

Also Within Reach

Sea kayaking
& sailing

Beyond the rivers lie the coasts. Sea kayaking through sheltered turquoise waters, where seals haul out on granite and golden beaches reveal themselves only from the water.

Or a private yacht, exploring remote islands and quiet anchorages at the pace of the wind. Each of these can stand alone — or weave into something larger.

We design around what moves you, never the other way around.
